Fig. 1. Cultured organotypic hippocampal slices were exposed to 60 min of oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) in the presence of 2% isoflurane. Although isoflurane had a marked protective effect against OGD (  P < 0.0001), there was no reversal of this effect by the γ-aminobutyric acid type B antagonist phaclofen (  P = 0.99  vs . OGD alone). Phaclofen alone had no effect on organotypic hippocampal slice viability. Values are mean ± SD.
