Placing the probes above the absorbent may be useful between canisters, but ideally they should be placed into the middle of the absorbent. Note the different thickness of lead wires. The probe with thicker wires created a leak that was difficult to seal, whereas the probe with thinner wires was easily sealed with foam tape.
