Phoenix Children's sits in the heart of Maricopa County, one of the fastest-growing regions of the United States. A major component of its expansion for the coming influx of pediatric patients is the launch of its first in-house Division of Anesthesiology. Drs. Jagannathan and Sawardekar are charged with establishing Phoenix Children's own Division of Anesthesiology. The pediatric anesthesiologist specialists worked together previously at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Before making the transition to Phoenix, Dr. Jagannathan was the division head for general pediatric anesthesiology, overseeing their clinical and research operations. He has taken on the role of Phoenix Children's Division Chief of Anesthesiology.
