This is why every month the ASA Monitor marshals data about severity of COVID-19, the efficacy of non-pharmaceutical measures, the biological causes of injury and death, the origins of SARS-CoV-2, the predictive accuracy of models, the efficacy of therapies, the safety and efficacy of vaccines, and the evolving trajectory of the pandemic.

It is hard to know if these efforts have any effect. My personal experience has not been encouraging. Unvaccinated members of my own family remain unvaccinated. However, I have had one success. This is Philippe's story.
