Outpatient surgery and anesthesia are both at the core of today’s perioperative management in the U.S., and rapidly expanding around the world. With an estimated 70-80 percent of surgeries being performed on a day-surgery basis nationally, being able to advance our sub-specialty, measure outcomes, and continue to develop evidence-based guidelines and standards is imperative. The Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) continues to fulfill its mission, vision, and goals, with a special emphasis on Education and Research:
