Innovation is what drives an industry forward, and medical innovation aims to improve care. But in developing new products, the road from concept to reality can be rocky. The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) is working to provide some guideposts to avoid potholes for drivers of innovation in anesthesiology.
FAER will host an engaging educational session on innovation at ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2017, “Swimming With Sharks: How Anesthesiologist Inventors Can Move Their Ideas Forward.” The session will feature three anesthesiologists looking to bring new products or methods to the clinical arena. They will present to a panel of successful entrepreneurs in academia and industry to get valuable feedback – both on their ideas and the process for moving to market.
