Medical students interested in serving in a leadership role are encouraged to submit an application for the ASA Medical Student Component Governing Council by September 1, 2016. Governing Council officer positions offer medical students the opportunity to learn and interact with fellow students and mentors in the field, as well as gain leadership experience and take advantage of networking opportunities. All applicants must be ASA members from accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical schools in the United States. With the exception of Senior Advisor, we encourage fourth-year medical students to be mindful in applying for governing council positions, as the service term considerably overlaps the typical residency matriculation date.
