In 2013, the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) offered for the first time the FAER Mentored Research Training Grant in Health Services Research (MRTG-HSR), in partnership with the Anesthesia Quality Institute. The purpose of the MRTG-HSR, in addition to providing career development for early-career physician anesthesiologists, is to enable future independent investigators to create new knowledge that improves health for the individual, improves the value of the care delivered to the population and reduces health care costs.
