This year SOCCA held its annual meeting the day before the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada, on Friday, May 16, 2014. In this international location, the meeting focused on issues relevant to critical care/anesthesia providers with key themes and content that translated to their current practices. Present at the meeting were international critical care anesthesiologists presenting relevant topics and many more international attendees. The meeting opened with a welcoming address by the president of the IARS Board of Trustees describing the venue as well as the new partnership with SOCCA. This new partnership will help fulfill SOCCA’s missions and provide the needed management support for SOCCA’s structure.
