The chair of the ASA Committee on Research, Y.S. Prakash, MD, PhD, has announced that the committee will award prizes for the following two entries in the 2022 ASA Residents' Research Essay Contest:
Jingyuan Chen, MD, PhD, from The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China, for “Mitigation of Burn-induced Motor Neuron Apoptosis, Synaptic Denervation and Muscle Wasting by Decreasing Spinal Microglia Inflammatory Responses”
John Park, MD, PhD, from the University of California, Los Angeles, for “LOXL Inhibition Improves Right Ventricular Function in Pulmonary Hypertension”
Winners receive a plaque and cash award to acknowledge their achievements. The presentation of these awards will take place during the Celebration of Research on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 9:30-11:30 am, at the New Orleans Convention Center in room La Nouvelle Ballroom B. Each award recipient will provide a formal presentation scheduled during ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2022.
