As President of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP), it is a great pleasure to lead such a dynamic and action-oriented global community of more than 1,800 physicians and allied professionals. Much of the work of our society is accomplished through our committees and their aligned subcommittees and task forces. Our mission engages more than 20% of SOAP members in their quest to advance and advocate for the health of pregnant women and their babies through research, education, and best practices in obstetric anesthesia care.

For this article, four of our more recent additions to the Board of Directors have been invited to summarize some of the activities that they and their groups have accomplished in 2021 and are pursuing in 2022. It is an honor and a pleasure to present their work, and I congratulate them on their valuable contributions to SOAP's mission and vision.
