On August 1-3, ASA's State Affairs staff represented the society at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) 47th annual Legislative Summit in Denver, Colorado. For more than 15 years, ASA has participated as an exhibitor at the NCSL Legislative Summit. During this well-attended event, State Affairs staff interacted with state legislators and legislative staff at the exhibit booth.
ASA represented physician anesthesiologists as part of a larger joint physician booth called “Physicians Advocating for Patients.” This booth has grown in recent years and included representatives from the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Surgeons, American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Federation of State Medical Boards.
