As your Vice President for Scientific Affairs, it is my pleasure to provide you with an update of activities in the area of scientific affairs. Although this has been a very challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ASA is fortunate to have so many highly qualified members who continue to participate in the advancement of scientific and medical knowledge despite the unforeseen barriers encountered along the way. I want to thank our ASA members and leaders who responded with incredible dedication and commitment to the care of patients while promoting science. The Division of Scientific Affairs is composed of five Sections: Clinical Care (Joy L. Hawkins, MD, FASA, Chair), Publications (Daniel J.
