Anesthesiology is one of the most rewarding professions in medicine. It can also be one of the most stressful. For many, unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced a variety of new stressors.
However, anesthesiologists have proven to be resilient and resourceful, as evidenced most recently by how the profession has responded, for instance, to ventilator shortages and ICU staffing needs in COVID hot spots.
