In September 2020, the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists will host the 17th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists, organized by the Czech Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine in Prague.

A superior academic and social program has been arranged for all participants. Starting on Saturday afternoon, this once-every-four-years “Olympics” of anesthesiology conferences kicks off with the General Assembly: National Society Delegations meeting (proportionate in number to their registered national society membership) in Prague’s O2 Universum Arena to vote on new proposals brought forth by the current presidents, officers and councilors and so to elect the next quadrennial’s presidents and board members who will guide the future of the WFSA.

Much like the United Nations General Assembly, member country delegations sit together in pre-assigned seating areas – occasionally resplendent with flags and clothed in the national dress of their countries of origin.
