The ASA Resident Component (RC) Governing Council directs the programs and activities of residents and fellows-in-training at the national level. The RC activities are overseen by a seven member Governing Council that is elected by the ASA Resident Component House of Delegates at each Annual Meeting.

Governing Council officer positions afford residents the opportunity to interact with peers and mentors in the field as well as gain leadership experience and take advantage of networking opportunities. Residents interested in serving in a leadership role are encouraged to apply for a governing council position by September 1, 2019. Positions available include

Terms begin at the Annual Meeting in October and are two years in length except for the Secretary position which is one year.
