The Outcomes Research Consortium was founded 29 years ago at the University of California in San Francisco. For the last 14 years, its administrative center has been the Department of Outcomes Research at the Cleveland Clinic. The Consortium has 170 members distributed around the world and typically conducts several hundred simultaneous studies. The Consortium is the specialty’s oldest, largest and most productive clinical anesthesia research group. For several decades, the Consortium has hosted private sessions at ASA annual meetings at which the group’s latest research is presented and discussed. This year, for the first time, the Consortium session will be open to all attendees at the annual meeting.
