ASA is enhanced by the global community in ever new and exciting ways. In turn, ASA continues to grow in size, scope and influence. Through our affiliation with several international societies of anesthesiology and the efforts of the ASA Committee on International Collaboration, the ASA Committee on Global Humanitarian Outreach and the ASA Charitable Foundation, our society has become a catalyst of worldwide partnering to improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
On the heels of the ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2018 annual meeting in San Francisco last October, where more than 27 percent of physician attendees were international, I want to highlight some of the activities that are raising the profile of our society in the international medical community and helping to make ASA a more valuable asset to all of its members.
