The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) strives every day to provide the very best support to physician-scientists in anesthesiology. It is thanks to the generous donations we receive throughout the year that we are able to do just that. Our work in 2019 is no exception, with FAER awarding 14 new grants, matching 49 medical students to host institutions for the Medical Student Anesthesia Research Summer Fellowship (MSARF) program and sponsoring 48 Resident Scholars to attend and present scientific posters at ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2019. This year also marked the first Annual Mentored Research Training Grant (MRTG) Meeting. Held over two days, the meeting sought to foster community between MRTG recipients and provide insights on how these outstanding physician-scientists can make the transition from FAER to federal funding.
