The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) has released the WHO-WFSA International Standards of Safe Practice of Anesthesia (ISSPA).1

For the first time, the latest version of the ISSPA was developed on behalf of both the WFSA and the World Health Organization (WHO). The standards provide guidance and assistance to anesthesia professionals and their professional societies, hospital and facility administrators, and governments for improving and maintaining the quality and safety of anesthesia care.

The Second WFSA SAFE-T Summit, titled “Global Equity in Anaesthesia and Surgical Care,” will be held April 5, 2019, at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.

ASA is a prominent and proud member of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists, and the WFSA is all the better for the good offices of ASA member involvement.
