On June 23, 2016, ASA will mark its second anniversary occupying its new, beautiful headquarters building in Schaumburg, Illinois. In nearly every dimension, ASA had outgrown its previous headquarters facility in Park Ridge, creating serious space, operational and strategic limitations. The 2010 ASA House of Delegates approved the construction of a new building in the Chicago area, a project that from early discussions until move-in spanned the tenure of six ASA presidents. I was privileged to chair the ASA Ad Hoc Committee on Headquarters Building Construction. The vision of our committee was that our new headquarters would bring space, opportunity, advantage, and benefit to this extraordinary medical specialty society and great pride and pleasure to all of our staff, to each of our members and to everyone who visits. At this two-year anniversary, it is appropriate to review our progress and to determine if our vision is being realized.
