By providing grant funding and career development opportunities, the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research supports and prepares anesthesiologists to advance patient care and improve lives through basic, clinical, translational science and medical education research. Physician anesthesiologists who receive FAER grant funding lead medicine into the future through scientific discovery and the creation of new knowledge.
With the goal to generate and support increased scientific activity in the specialty, FAER offered a second grant cycle in 2015 for the first time since 2008. Initiating the second grant cycle proved effective: 2015 was a record-setting year for anesthesiology research funded by FAER. In its support of FAER, the anesthesiology community is now doing more than ever to ensure the specialty is transforming medicine, advancing patient care and improving lives.
