The FAER-Helrich Research Lecture recognizes outstanding scholarship by a scientist. It is part of an effort by the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) to encourage early-career anesthesiologists and trainees to consider careers in research and teaching. Scientific discovery is crucial if anesthesiology is to maintain its reputation as a medical specialty continuously striving for excellence in patient care. Each year at the ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting, the FAER-Helrich Research Lecture is presented as part of the Celebration of Research.
The 15th annual FAER-Helrich Research lecturer is Laurent G. Glance, M.D., Professor and Vice-Chair for Research inthe Department of Anesthesiology, andProfessor of Public Health Sciences at the Universityof Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, New York.
