The Division of Scientific Affairs addresses ASA’s goal to advance science and education for physician anesthesiologists. Composed of 56 committees, sub-committees and editorial boards and more than 800 positions, the Division gives voice to the ideas of many involved ASA members.
ASA’s annual meeting remains the most popular educational offering. The ANESTHESIOLOGY® 2014 annual meeting in New Orleans attracted nearly 13,000 registrants, with 20 percent attendance from more than 80 countries outside the U.S. We are expecting that the 2015 meeting in San Diego will be an even greater draw. The annual meeting leadership, headed by Karen Domino, M.D., has refreshed the structure of the meeting for 2015, making it easier to navigate and to network.
