This pressure comes from health care systems, CMS and third-party payers, and employers, all of whom continue to implement payment models increasingly based upon outcomes, quality and resource utilization. More than ever before, anesthesiologists must acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive and succeed as the existing fee-for-service payment model starts to diminish and newer payment models gain traction.
