This work was done at Highland-Alameda County Hospital, Oakland, California. It was originally presented as a Scientific Exhibit at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, New York City, October 20–22, 1962. The paper was a prize-winning entry in the 1962 Residents' Annoucements Competition of the California Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc.
