In the May 2013 issue, the article beginning on page 1046 included an error in the Materials and Methods section, Complication Variables subsection, first paragraph. The authors note that a mistake was made in the description of one of the 14 outcome variables. They have incorrectly stated in this paragraph that “The incidence of 30-day mortality was directly provided from Premier.” The statement should read “The incidence of in-hospital mortality was directly provided from Premier.” The authors mistakenly overlooked that 30-day mortality was a variable created by their study team.

The authors believe that this mistake does not alter the conclusions of their study significantly, but they believe that this information is important for the accurate interpretation of their data by readers.
