Read the article by Dewachter et al . entitled “Anaphylaxis and anesthesia: Controversies and new insights” on page 1141 of this issue.
Learning Objective(s)
After completing this exercise, the learner will know the clinical signs and symptoms that identify anaphylaxis during anesthesia, know the common anesthetic allergens that cause anaphylaxis, know best practice in the treatment of cardiovascular collapse during anaphylaxis, and know how to identify the inciting allergen through allergy testing.
